In Guatemala, there is a tradition called “La Quema del Diablo” (The Burning of the Devil) that takes place in early December. As part of this tradition, people clean their homes and then gather their rubbish and old items to burn in a bonfire, which is believed to drive away evil spirits. Some families even toss in old Christmas trees! So, while not directly related to the holiday, it’s a quirky prelude to the festive season. 🎄🔥
