The Surviver

Violet Jessop, often referred to as “Miss Unsinkable,” survived not one, but three major ship disasters, including the infamous Titanic.

Born in 1887, Violet worked as a stewardess and nurse on ocean liners. She was aboard the RMS Titanic when it struck an iceberg and sank in 1912. Violet managed to escape in a lifeboat and survived the freezing Atlantic waters.

Remarkably, Violet was also on the RMS Olympic when it collided with a British warship in 1911, and on the HMHS Britannic when it hit a mine and sank in 1916 during World War I. Her survival in these three maritime disasters is a testament to her courage and fortitude.
